Another Tire Issue By Gary “Pappy” Boward Chairman of the Board
Another tire issue has presented itself to us. If you own a 2009 Touring Model FLHTCU, FLHTC, FLHR/SHRINE, FLHTCU/SHRINE,FLHPE, FLHX, FLTR, FLTRSE, FLTRSE3 (PV) and the FLHTCUSE4 models with a D407F Dunlop front tire, your tire may be a problem. It seems the rotation arrow was stamped in the wrong direction.
If you have noticed excessive noise, vibration, poor ride or handling you should go to your local Harley store and tell them of your problems. Depending on tread wear you should receive a new front tire at NO charge. Although they may try to prorate it, the excessive tire wear is probably caused by the tire itself and not just by you riding your motorcycle.
Harley, doing replacements, shall not be construed as an admission by the dealer or manufacturer of the existence of a motorcycle or tire safety defect. With that in mind when was the last time you heard the word “free” at a HD store?
