I just wanted to express my gratitude to the Calvert Chapter members who helped me yesterday when I broke down near the Mid-Shore Labor Day Event. Thank you so much for getting me off the side of the road and getting my bike back down to me today. It is very much appreciated and will not be forgotten.

Charles County ABATE is hosting
Murder Mystery Train Ride aboard the Western Scenic Railway

Come join fellow ABATE members for a fun-filled evening of murder, mystery and mayhem during a 3 ½ hour ride through scenic western Maryland but wait one of us will not return!  A murder will take place and it will be up to you to solve the mystery as the action unfolds before your eyes. Gather clues, ask questions and put your detective instincts to work
Can you figure out WHO DON IT !

WHEN:   November 20, 2010 @ 6:00pm
WHERE:   Cumberland, Maryland            
Western Scenic Railway  
Depart:      Wawa 4210 Crain Hwy in White Plains
      Kickstands up /start your engines 11:00am with stops *see route below
COST:      $80 per person including dinner

Overnight accommodations are available at the Holiday Inn. Mention ABATE when making reservations to receive group discount rate. Call 301-724-8800 and ask for Samantha.  (Walking distance to train station)

All dinners are served with a Salad, Dinner Roll and a Dessert selection. Beverages included are Iced Tea or Water. Coffee will be served on return trip. A Cash Bar will be available.

FAST-TRACK LICENSING
Get Legal – Get Licensed
If you do not have a Class M license this is your opportunity to get one FAST.
At the Annapolis MVA on Tuesday, August 17 1 the Motorcycle Safety Program will be holding a FAST-TRACK Licensing event 2 where we will assist you through the licensing process by:
•Providing a Study Hall to help prepare you for the knowledge test;
•Administering the knowledge test;
•Provide coaching for the on-cycle skills test;
•Administering the on-cycle skills test 3;
•Administering the eye test; and
•Issuing a new license with the Class M, or a leaner’s permit 4

We call it FAST-TRACK because:
•The learner’s permit requirement is waived;
•The 14-day waiting period is waived;
•You will be allowed one opportunity to retake a failed test on the same day; and
•You could leave with a Class M license or a learner’s permit.


FAST TRACK is available only to Maryland licensed drivers over the age of 18.

1 FAST-TRACK LICENSING will be conducted during regular business hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
2 TESTING IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. To make an appointment call the Program office at: 800-638-1722, or 443-572-8236.
You can also send an email to: motorcyclesafety@mva.maryland.gov. Please put FAST TRACK in the Subject line. In the body of the message include your name and phone number. You will get a return email confirming your appointment.
3 Applicants will be required to use their own street legal motorcycle and must wear a DOT certified helmet and approved eye protection. Applicants are expected to transport their motorcycle to the MVA legally.
4 Applicants must pay the licensing fee of $45 for the license, or $30 for a learner’s permit

We meet at the Easton Diner on Rt. 50, Easton MD.  No charge on this run, and everyone is welcome.

Kickstands up at 6:30pm.  We ride as a group to Lowes Wharf, Tilghman Island.

We leave Lowes Wharf after the sun sets over the river!  This is a ride to remember Marty and all that he did for all of us and our rights.
